After 1,100 miles and 52 days, Eddie Izzard has finishing line in sight
After 1,100 miles and 52 days, Eddie Izzard has finishing line in sight
As a transvestite comic who is prone to put on weight and had never run farther than five miles, Eddie Izzard is not the obvious candidate to run 1,100 miles around Britain. But the 47-year-old stand-up and actor will today drag his aching limbs from the Olympic park to Trafalgar Square in the last of an astonishing 43 marathons he has completed in just 52 days... picked by doodlechild 3 months ago

upvote soley for Eddie. I love him.
Except he needs to stop acting in crappy movies and go back to stand up. Sorry Eddie, but I miss it.

I'll add my comment from the comments on the article. This man runs a marathon a day for over a month and this is the first a lot of people are hearing about it!?!?!

We are waaaay to pre-occupied with celebrity if this has slipped through the cracks.

Good on ya, Eddie!

One of my favorite comics, and the fact that all the news stories I hear about him really make him sound like an amazing person is just a bonus.

The best story was after the Mumbai terror victim had to give up his tickets, Izzard performed the whole damn 90 minute show in his hospital room. Now that's classy!

Yes! That's the one I was trying to think of! I remembered him performing for someone in their hospital room, but I didn't remember it was someone involved in the Mumbai attack.

I guess my preoccupation with celebrity actually did me some good on this one. He's been Tweeting about it several times a day. :)

A marathon a day? I'm 30, I run 40 miles a week, and I have a very difficult time seeing that I get enough rest in to fully recover. He has literally got to be eating anti-inflammatories like they're candy.

With just five weeks of training? People who train for Iron Man triathlons commonly set aside 20 weeks to train for just a single event.

Eddie is awesome, one of the best comedians out there in my eyes. This whole thing he is doing with the marathons is amazing though, good for him!
