Do Dolphins Have A Sense Of The Future?
Do Dolphins Have A Sense Of The Future?
Dolphins can be trained to pick up trash that falls in their pool and are rewarded with a fish. Dolphins have been seen hiding the trash under a rock for later use. Turning it in for food at a later time. picked by 2manyusernames 1 year ago

While Cetaceans aren’t likely to take mankind to court, it has been suggested that they are willing to communicate with us—possibly in a form that WE are too stupid to cognitively interpret.
Probably true.

Learning to more effectively communicate and understand differently evolved life forms on our planet may provide important insights into possible future interactions with life beyond planet Earth.
Possibly - but then probably only a first step, since extraterrestrial life is likely to be more different from terrestrial life, than the difference between humans and cetaceans.

I interpreted the title as "Can dolphins see into the future?!" which made me all excited.

But this was good, too.

"Historically, humans have long reported an affinity with dolphins, including joint cooperative fisheries in ancient Rome and other interactions. A modern human-dolphin fishery still takes place in Laguna, Santa Catarina, Brazil."

There are places in the world where dolphins are utterly despised and hunted.

Also, there was a book about this.

Hitchhiker's Guide Quote:

"Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons."

I totally agree. I do a lot of surfing and scuba diving and my interactions with wild dolphins has me pretty convinced that they are the superior species. They have learned to exist with nature while still leading very comfortable lives.

I bet it turns out that humans drown easily.
