Tiger Woods may get a pension of $1 Billion
Tiger Woods may get a pension of $1 Billion
Pension plans are not as common as they used to be for most of us. PGA, however takes good care of its people. Tiger Woods who already makes the most of any sports person (he makes twice as much as the #2 person) could very well reach $1,000,000,000 in retirement payouts. picked by 2manyusernames 2 years ago

This just disgusts me. look at nurses in the UK, living on pensions of less than 10 grand, and quite frankly doing a million times more than tiger woods....

You don't pay people base on their worth to society.

Pay is based on
1)how much the service rendered nets the employer.

Nurses are important, but unless you are willing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a doctor appt, there is only so much money generated by their services.

Tiger Woods makes a lot of people a lot of money, therefor he gets paid a lot.

The reason he makes twice as much as the #2 slot athlete is his incredible power as an endorser of products/services.

2)Supply and demand.
Quite simple. It is far far far easier to find a person who can become a nurse. Finding someone who can be a tiger woods is a tad bit rarer.

I agree with Dave and 2many. It's disgusting, but I get it.

What's really sad is that I could never afford the green fees to practice long enough to go pro. Well, that, and I never liked golf to begin with. Details.

Why do we NEED a Tiger woods would be my question? He certainly isn't worthy of what he, or any OTHER sports players make, IMHO.

Dave, I am with you, 100%. And I think it's sad that he makes more than a surgeon who has to try and piece someone together for HOURS,(after a bad accident or reconstructive surgery) while all Tiger has to do is sachet across the golf course.

Society definately has the wrong ideas about heros and worth.

As a paramedic I made 10.08 an hr and worked 24 hr shifts. PLUS after midnite, we went to *sleep time* at a rate of 6.00 hr. Of course if a call came in, we went and our pay was time and a half for the call (at my 10.08 rate) AND if we were out three hrs out of the 8 for sleep time, we got time and half for the 8 hrs instead of the 6.00.

I made snap decisions, aggressive treatments and many times your life is literally in my hands until I GET you to the doctor. And he ain't gonna make any money unless I get you there *alive* first.
