Extinct fish returns after 80 years
Extinct fish returns after 80 years
The last Alouette River sockeye salmon were reported in 1931. But last Wednesday, 20 sockeye carcasses and six live fish were found at the foot of the dam by a BC Hydro employee. picked by misswinkle 3 years ago

I HATE it when theres an article like this one. I didn't even want to read it, I was only interested in finding out what the fish looked like. But no, they don't have a picture of the fish, do they?

Indeed. Interesting article, but the avatar made me think "I'm a dorkfish!" LOL!

To respond to Buddha's question in the dupe (since I'm having difficulties commenting there):

Properly, this should be referred to as an extirpation event, not an extinction. Extinct usually means the species is gone, but it can also mean that a specific population is extinct, even though it may be thriving within other areas of it's historic habitat.
