Technically, that is a pudding. As for the real pie Americans like, it is Dutch (Woohoo !)
Baseball is British. And Chevrolet was named after the founder Louis Chevrolet, who was born in Switzerland.

Basically, the only thing I can think of at the top of my head that is truly (US)American, is popcorn.

I am a conservative and I watch Jon Stewart. The guy is funny. I disagree with him , but the guy is funny - It's a guilty pleasure. Stewart is an intellectual. The guy who wrote this article is just.... ridiculous.
