Church Turned Graveyard Into a Parking Lot for Wimbledon
Church Turned Graveyard Into a Parking Lot for Wimbledon
It seems that the St. Mary’s Church in Wimbledon village has maneuvered itself into a rather tight spot: church officials let tennis fan park their car on top of graves for £20!
The proceeds of the unofficial parking scheme go to charity but some residents are angry with the plan, describing it as 'disrespectful'. picked by bingo 5 months ago

apparently, the wimbledon people have never seen Poltergeist.

How long until the angry dead rise from their graves?

It maybe that England doesn't have an equivalent to "Craig T. Nelson" in their actor arsenal.

a CHURCH came up with this idea? i'm disgusted. how can they not think the cars will cause damage to the sites? god knows how old some of those tombstones are, and there are SUVs crashing into them. whatever money they make from this and more will be spent repairing damage done from the cars and their stupid owners.

I love the picture of the people sitting around the pond. I thought they photoshopped some corpse feet into the picture for shock factor.

Reverend Mary Bide said that although the cars look 'odd', they were only parked in the oldest part of the graveyard...
Apparently only the more recently dead deserve respect.

"Hey! Can I park here?"

"Nah... gotta find something at least 50 years older. We've got standards here..."

As you can see it looks like those rich city types that don't give a damn about anyone are the ones parking there. I'm sure one probably asked if they could park somewhere and the idea hit but it's still disrespectful none the less.
