Just wayyyyy too many people that want to run. It's pretty much a lottery system. Guess you won't be able to taunt me with beer along the way after all!

Spoils my fun. Unless you wanna come over anyway and we can both hang out in the crowd waving cool tempting beers at the runners.

My roommate's mother has to start chemo again. After a complete hysterectomy she had been doing great for over a year. Her last several blood tests have been looking worse and worse. I hate that she has to go through this again.

It feels like every time we start to heal from one tragedy we get shocked by another one.

BF's 106-year-old neighbor passed away today. Her birthday was about 10 days ago and she was cognizant of the day.

Here's a write up from the Asbury Park Press from two years ago.

********************************

After 104 years, Eleanore "Ellie" Huson of Atlantic Highlands still looks forward to life each day.

"I look outside every morning," Huson said. "Whatever I see is wonderful."

Huson, who spends her days walking through town when she is not working on a crossword or puzzle, said she is still an active member of the Garden Club of New Jersey and the Red Hat Society.

Yet, with the passage of time, even the spry Huson had to give up her ballet slippers, her efforts at portraiture and her driver's license.

"That's what I miss most of all," said Huson, who gave up driving her Volvo when she turned 100. "Getting old - it's so dull."

Huson, who is of Bavarian descent, grew up in Boston's Beacon Hill section after her birth in 1903. In 1966, she moved to Atlantic Highlands with her husband, Arthur, a classical musician who died in 1987.
The couple previously had lived in Morris County and in Little Silver, where Huson served on the planning board.

A devout Boston Red Sox fan, Huson said she cannot believe she saw her favorite baseball team win the World Series in 2004, 86 years after she watched them win the previous time, in 1918.

Huson believes her constant activity and love of the arts has kept her enjoying life as long as she has.

"I don't expect anything at this point," Huson said. "I've been a very, very fortunate person."

My brother is really upset. He can't find a paper he absolutely has to have to complete his Eagle Scout project... he's been counting on the Eagle award to get him into the college he wants.

He has to find the paper by Friday, and now he's afraid he won't find it, won't get the award, and won't go to a good school.

I wish I knew how to help him.

My measuring spoons have gone missing. I suspect the fork, of course, but I lack non-rhyming proof.

Sigh. I'm thinking of just buying replacements.

Not in Canyonlands ....some of those areas are already hard enough to get to, add some of the slippery stuff and ...well no access.

Bf received a very incriminating text last night from the mother of one of his students and someone I've always been suspicious of. I happened to look over his shoulder and saw it seconds before it was deleted.

He turned white and shaky when he realized he was caught and swore that nothing had happened and that she'd been sending him texts like that recently. I want to believe him but feel like it'd be incredibly stupid and naive of me if I let this slide.

I made him call her and tell her he's dropping her daughter as a student. Other than that, I'm at such a f**king loss over what to do.

I may be wrong here but didn't this happen to you before, but opposite? He saw some text you got from an old friend? What did you do that time?

(I'm sorry if that wasn't you)

Though I disagree with Stinko. His actions don't say that he is guilty of anything more than getting that text and being nervous about it.

Sending him texts like what? What kind was it? (or could you not see it) Why does she have his cell number? Do all the parents have his cell number?

Bingo: Yes, that was me. I gave him my cell phone and let him keep it for the day. I had told him beforehand that I was meeting my friend at the bar (and I was with a bunch of my girlfriends) and I also invited him to show up later, which he did.

The shaking and going completely pale happened after I told him to get his cheating ass out of my house. So it could possibly be attributed to the fact that he thought we were done for.

jhordie: All the parents have his cell phone number in case they need to cancel or reschedule. This one happens to be a massage therapist and as he's got a messed up back from drums, he used to go get massages from her after work (always calling and telling me beforehand). She started sending him myspace messages offering free massages and just little chitchatty things and I'd voiced my suspicions to him about it.

He'd called to tell me his back hurt yesterday and mentioned that he'd be working late, but he came home early because some students canceled. He'd taught her daughter that day and apparently mentioned his back when she came to pick her kid up.

The text she sent was along the lines of "How's your back? Did my sucking your cock help any?" So yes, incredibly damning.

According to him, in the past few weeks she's been sending stuff like that (another example he gave me with some reluctance was along the lines of "I loved it when you f**ked me in the ass") and he's tried to just ignore it and was too afraid to mention it to me.

I'm probably going to install a key logger on his laptop when I get home.
